| The process of globalization has begun a few decades ago. Manual translation is the earliest kind of translation process and it means simple translating the text phrase by phrase made by a person. Meanwhile, automatic translation is a product of the modern technological advance and it has become widespread not so long ago. Automatic translation of the text may be done with the help of specialized PC programs, such as Prompt, or it may also be done online at the sites dedicated to language translation. People have already automated numerous processes. But still, what concerns automatic translation there are some minuses. Taking into account that there are a lot of special fixed expressions in every foreign language, it is not possible to foresee all the probable situations in translation. That's why the software uses the most common meaning of this or that word, and it's not always the most appropriate version for translation. What's more, from time to time the software translates the fixed expression word by word, and in result the meaning of the sentence is changed. The most evident advantage of the automatic translation process is speed. But nevertheless, significant documents you would better translate manually or apply to special translation companies. |
